Each brooch combines the birthstone with a flower linked to that month either according to garden lore or because it appears in the garden at that time.<p/> The magical properties of stones have been celebrated for thousands of years. In the first century AD, the writer Josephus commented on the good fortune that gems could bring to those born during the corresponding calender month. Our sterling silver pendant evokes the fluid style of Archibald Knox (1864-1933), a leading jewellery designer of the Arts and Crafts movement and follower of William Morris.
